I don't think that this was the best book in the series, or had the most even plotting; at best, it represents a really excellent wrap-up of a few previous plotlines. Most notable was Rachel's acceptance, by the end, of her identity as a practitioner of black magic. Now, hopefully the series can move on and explore the lives of Rachel, Ivy, and Jenks as they deal with Al, Rachel's annoying ghost friend (hopefully Harrison will settle on some kind of believable accent for Pierce), Trent, and all of the interesting side characters that make the series vibrant.
