I'm an Elizabeth Peters fan, and relished the opportunity for a look into the history behind her fictional writing. I listened to the book on audio, and paged the book for the pictures. The writing is personal and dryly humorous: "Let no one believe that I am misled by personal animus against a man who has been a mummy for several thousand years. I am perfectly wiling to concede that Ramses may have been an Achilles in battle. Achilles was none too bright either."
